A “hot head” former city Department of Corrections captain sucker-punched a man in an unprovoked attack, according to a lawsuit.
The minute-long clip shows Silverman arguing with Spinella in the parking garage, then the former corrections officer lunges at the graphic designer, punching him in the face.Spinella is now suing Silverman, 55, in Staten Island Supreme Court for unspecified damages. “They had their guns drawn on me,” Spinella said of responding officers. “They came to arrest me…it wasn’t until I showed them the footage that they arrested him.”Spinella sued Marc Silverman over the attack caught on camera in Staten Island Supreme Court.A female friend told Spinella that Silverman was a “hot head” before the fight began.Silverman was charged with assault and harassment, but the case was dismissed by the Staten Island District Attorney’s Office in April.
