Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday that the U.S. has certified that Hong Kong is no longer “politically autonomous” from China, coming after moves by Beijing to pass two new laws around Chinese sovereignty and a long period of unrest marked by massive protests in Hong Kong.
