The sci-fi comedy Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was a smash hit that launched a franchise, but what has the cast of the family film been up to since?
The 1989 smash hit sci-fi family comedy Honey, I Shrunk the Kids featureds an impressive cast of veterans and newcomers, but where are the actors now? Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids follows inventor Wayne Szalinski who accidentally miniaturizes his own kids, and those of his next-door neighbors, after inventing a shrinking ray.
Marcia Strassman Balancing out Wayne's zany antics, Marcia Strassman, of Welcome Back, Kotter fame, plays Diane Szalinski, his long-suffering, career-focused wife who helps rescue the shrunken kids. Unlike Moranis, who appeared in every Honey, I Shrunk the Kids movie, Strassman only returned for the first sequel, 1992's Honey, I Blew Up the Kid.
Jared Rushton Jared Rushton, who had just come off the success of playing Tom Hanks's best friend in Big, plays Ronald "Ron" Thompson, the cavalier younger son of Big Russ who hits a baseball through the Szalinski's window, which eventually leads to the kids being shrunk. Rushton continued to play teenage roles in the early 1990s and most notably appeared as Clyde Parker in Pet Sematary Two and starred as Brian in the action-adventure film A Cry in the Wild.
