I tested the Hoka Clifton 9 sneakers for six months and wore them for walking, running, and traveling. These are my thoughts about the popular sneakers.
I try a lot of shoes. Earlier in my career, I was a footwear editor. Now, at Prevention, I get to test loads of sneakers. So when a pair gets podiatrists, my fellow editors, my marathon-running fiancé, and even my 66-year-old dad hyped, I know I need to try it out. I got my hands on a pair of Hoka Clifton 9s so I could check them out myself and see if they’re worth the hype.I wore these over a six-month period, which included more than 100 miles of walking.
They feel bouncy yet supportive with each stride, and feature a breathable upper that kept my feet feeling cool while pounding the pavement. Though probably not recommended by the brand, I find I can slide my feet into these without much effort. The tongue is super comfortable, and overall, these are probably my most plush sneakers.
