Travellers face bank holiday misery as 150 train lines hit by strikes and delaysthe huge swing of 26 per cent from the Tories to Labour can easily be taken for granted after a string of similarly bruising results for Rishi Sunak’s party in recent Westminster by-elections.
But this strong performance for Reform looks to be more to do with a total implosion of the Tory vote than a particularly strong campaign from the party set up by Nigel Farage. The party is defending a high bar after a successful results the last time these seats were up for election but the early pattern indicates they are losing around half of those they are defending.
