The old industrial building dates back to 1902, but has remained vacant in recent years
A major residential development at the site of a historic Northampton shoe factory has been submitted to West Northamptonshire Council. Plans could soon be green-lit as approval has been recommended ahead of a planning committee meeting on November 8.
The site contains 20th-century industrial buildings, comprising approximately two-thirds of the site, but are in poor condition after they started to decline. The remaining eastern portion of the complex contains the Grade II listed building, Enterprise House, with a more contemporary two-storey extension to the side.

The residential complex will include provision for 97 parking spaces, cycle stores, private and shared amenity spaces and pedestrian paths throughout. Access to the site would be taken from Bective Road, into a central communal parking area.
