The Lake County Sheriff is investigating after a police shooting Friday afternoon in Highland, Indiana.
Highland police said the suspect was allegedly seen shoplifting. Officers encountered the male suspect in the parking lot near a Silver Ford Escape and an altercation ensued between an officer and the driver. A female passenger in the suspect car was taken in for questioning by the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
