The images show the forceful elements dominating beaches, walkways and piers. It comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for much of the West Coast, with 20 of Scotland's 32 council areas impacted.Lasting from 4am until 1pm today, gusts of 50mph to 60mph are expected with 65mph in exposed places, potentially reaching 75mph in parts of the West Coast.
The Met Office says:"A band of squally showers will move east with a spell of very strong west to southwesterly winds following through Wednesday morning. Gusts of 50-60mph are likely widely and 65mph in exposed locations, with a chance of gusts reaching 75mph in parts of western Scotland, which may combine with the morning high tide to cause some spray and large waves along some western coasts.
