So how can we shape this into compelling television?Programme commissioners have been reluctant to greenlight green TV, especially on climate change, because they think it will make the audience feel sad, guilty and powerless. That isn't a recipe for bums on seats.
I have worked in climate and environment broadcasting for 25 years and in that time I have become unshakeably convinced by the reality and urgency of the problem but also perturbed by the doom dominated narrative.
