High levels of carbon dioxide have been found in two classrooms at Kelso Elementary School, according to two air quality reports released this year.The report also indicated there was mold in the HVAC system. A water leak, air filters that had not been changed in seven months and improperly sealed doors are likely what caused the issue, according to experts who reviewed the reports.

All students and faculty were kept safely away from those areas while work was completed. The system has been cleaned and is functioning.

. The Jan. 9 report showed C02 levels to be 2,338 ppm and 1,838 in the two classrooms. In the Feb. 17 report, they were at 1,538 and 1,622.
