JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The 4th of July falls on a Thursday this year, which means a couple of things. For one, a lot of people will be taking Friday off for an extra-long weekend. But it also means celebrations will be spread out over most of a week, and if you’re intoJacksonville’s big fireworks show will be on the 4th and will be spread out around the city, much like last year. Here’s where you’ll find Independence Day celebrations around the region.
St. Augustine’s All Star Orchestra plays patriotic favorites at 6 p.m., followed by a 20-minute fireworks display over Matanzas Bay starting at 9:30 p.m. Info:There’s an 8 a.m. 5K run, an 11 a.m. Sound of Freedom Parade, a daylong festival, a 5 p.m. concert by Paul Wane and 9:30 p.m. fireworks at Keystone Beach Park. Info:Free event starts at 5 p.m. at Moosehaven with a kids’ zone, live music, food trucks and fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
