Sony and Microsoft are still playing price chicken with PS5 and Xbox Series X, but it's becoming clear how it's going to end.
If the two companies are playing chicken, I think it’s going to be Sony that ends up chickening out in the end, and waiting until Microsoft goes first. I think that’s how this ends .Microsoft is set to have its own event later this month, and all indications seem like it’s finally time for them to unveil their secondary, lower-spec next gen console, the Xbox Lockhart.
I maintain that both consoles will likely hover around $500 this time. No one wants to go up to $600, the dreaded price that tanked the PS3 launch, and these boxes are too powerful to sink all the way down to $400.I can see Microsoft pricing the Series X and $500 and the Lockhart anywhere from $300-400, depending on its specs.
