it has to be the disappointing Mustang II. After the wildly successful Mustangs of the 1960s, the Mustang II that debuted in 1974 didn’t even have an available V8. This SEMA show restomod on eBay has fixed that and every other problem the pony car ever had.
While the absence of a potent V8 was the biggest problem with the Mustang II, it wasn’t alone by any stretch of the imagination. It was ugly, oddly proportioned, and the engines that were available were equally disappointing. Take one quick look atmated to a six-speed Tremec transmission. It sends power to the rear wheels through a carbon-fiber driveshaft and 325-section width tires. Stopping power comes through slotted brake rotors and color-matched brake calipers.
Inside, it’s all business with a paint-matched roll cage and black leather upholstery throughout. The bucket seats come with four-point racing harnesses and classic metal grommets throughout. A modern Alpine infotainment system modernizes the cabin further and we love the metal switchgear that looks a lot like the ones used inIt might be the most complete and well-rounded Mustang II restomod we’ve ever seen.
