Storms are expected to make their way over the Central Texas region Saturday, bringing rains that could last through early next week.Severe weather conditions are expected for South Central Texas this weekend and early next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Storms are expected to develop over West Texas and Mexico Saturday afternoon and evening, the weather service said. These storms will move east toward the I-35 corridor by the evening. Most of South Central Texas, including Bexar County, the Hill Country and the I-35 corridor, are at marginal risk for severe storms on Saturday, the weather service said.Storms could bring hail larger than 2 inches, damaging winds and localized flooding to these areas Saturday night. Areas west of Highway 281 could see the most rain, with pockets of 2 to 4 inches by midday Sunday, the weather service said.
An active weather pattern will continue today with a good chance of strong storms and heavy rainfall today into early Sunday. Daily rain chances continue into Tuesday, so there could be a localized flood threat through then. Rain chances should become more isolated by mid-week.
