Unite has warned the walkout could see planes delayed, disrupted and grounded due to their inability to be refuelled
for the upcoming bank holiday as 50 refuellers are to take industrial action for 72 hours beginning on 4 May.working as refuellers for AFS are taking the industrial action after their employer “imposed drastic cuts to the terms and conditions of new staff recruited since January 2024”, the union said.It is one of a number of fuel suppliers at the airport but the majority of flights are supported by other providers.

Murder suspect arrested at Heathrow Airport after fatal car collisionA murder suspect has been arrested at Heathrow Airport hours after a man was hit and killed by a car in east London, police said. The Metropolitan Police was called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Barking Road, Newham. The pedestrian, a 35-year-old man, died despite the efforts of emergency services. A 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.
