The 19-year-old girlfriend of a man who allegedly beat David McKenzie to death confronted the victim's family and police outside a courthouse on Long Island.
Authorities say that Patrick Destine of Brooklyn had just bought himself an Infiniti for $4,000. They say he was driving it drunk, didn't know he ran a stop sign, or didn't care.
"Right now, these are just allegations," defense attorney Scott Migden said. "We're not looking to rush to any judgment. We're waiting for the truth to come out." McKenzie, meanwhile, was only feet away from reaching his home. Authorities say he had told Destine he wasn't even going to call police about the accident.
