The end of an era!
The club which was a hub for families and friends who had "memorable times over the years", shut its doors on August 29, 2022. It first opened in 1888.
"That’s such a shame but it’s getting harder and harder to keep going in these bad financial times," said another. The owner of the premises has said he wants to find a way to keep the historic community building alive. Managing Director at G&H Group, Graham Kelly, who has lived in Farsley all his life, said "We bought it three years ago to protect the future of the building and help Farsley Liberal Club to continue operating. Our approach has always been about ensuring this community facility remains while retaining a building of such historic and architectural importance to the town.
"It has huge potential and could be used in many different ways from a bar or restaurant to shop premises or as a community based venue – the options are endless really."
