Scottish Health Secretary Michael Matheson has said that he will pay his nearly £11,000 bill he racked up for data roaming charges. He was initially going to pay £3,000 and the rest would have come from public funds but he has now vowed to pay the full fee.Matheson said he was repaying the bill after his "integrity" and the "reputation" of the Scottish Parliament had been questioned.
"While the Parliament agreed to pay the bulk of this sum as a legitimate expense, with the rest being met from my office allowance, I have reflected long and hard and accept that the SIM card on this device should have been replaced at an earlier stage.
