Barnsley mum Hayley MacFarlane smothered her baby while walking in a park after a Christmas party
Hayley MacFarlane, 39, of Carrington Street, Barnsley, has previously admitted a charge of infanticide in relation to her five-month-old daughter Evelyn who died in hospital in December last year.
Mrs MacFarlane, described by friends as gentle and caring, was under the care of mental health medics when she messaged her husband while walking to a Woodhouse Moor Park with baby Evelyn, following a Christmas party at a mental health unit in Huddersfield mum died after routine op to fix broken ankle - and family say five chances to save her were missed
She phoned her husband, who was driving over to see her, and told him to pull over. She told him that Evelyn was 'gone'. Five minutes later she called 999 and told police she had "killed her daughter".Louise Blackwell KC, for Mrs MacFarlane, said a GP and mental health services had 'failed' to fully appreciate the extent of the psychosis.
