Temperatures are expected to drop into the teens behind a cold front Wednesday, presaging big changes to recent high temperatures in the upper 60s, the Weather Service’s latest forecast said. While temperatures at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport may reach the lowest of the season, Godwin said the Weather Service does not anticipate a repeat of last year’s winter storm and stretch of below-zero temperatures. Temperatures, he said, should moderate to above-freezing by next week.Godwin said the cold front could bring freezing rain Wednesday, which may transition in sleet and snow by Thursday.
Godwin said there’s also a threat that ice could accumulate on power lines, and he encouraged people to prepare for outages.
