Just minutes before a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for north-central Brazoria and southeastern Harris counties was set to expire, the National Weather Service issued the same warning for south-central Harris and northeastern Fort Bend counties until 8:45 p.m.
Beyond that, the big heat ridge will slowly nudge back in as we head through the weekend and through next week.Over the weekend, the mercury starts to climb again as the heat ridge begins moving back toward Texas. It should be a dry weekend with highs near 100 and heat indices near 111. The heat ridge will continue building back over Texas next week, which should bring us several more triple-digit days.
