John Rankin was left frustrated as his side couldn't take more than a point from the League One strugglers
Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin says it was a sore one to draw 1-1 against Edinburgh City, but missed chances came back to bite his side.
The result, coupled with Falkirk’s 2-1 win over Stirling Albion, drops Accies two points down in second place, and ends Hamilton’s 100 per cent home record this season.“If you don’t take chances they will come back and bite you. We’ve seen it before.“With the chances we had, especially in the first 10 minutes of the game, the game should have been done and dusted.
More sports news from across Lanarkshire “But I’ve got to say Macca’s goal was a really good goal and it should push us on; Edinburgh never changed their style at all, they just continued to do what they were doing. “We created chances, we just never took them, and with the goal we gave away, we had two or three chances to clear the ball and don’t clear it.
Rankin says there will be some analysis done during the week, but Accies need to get back to what they’re good at.
