The police cordon in Clapham Common A gunman on a moped opened fire at London’s Clapham Common during a police chase. Three people have been injured, with one rushed to a hospital, while others were treated at the scene, the London Ambulance Service said. Multiple Metropolitan Police vans and cars can be seen outside the Tube station as the suspect remains on the run. It is understood the attack happened outside the Belle Vue pub and the rider was armed with a shotgun.
‘Two people sustained shotgun pellet injuries. A third person was injured by the moped. Dozens of police officers were deployed to the scene ‘The suspects fled the scene. London Ambulance Service paramedics have taken the injured people to hospital. ‘While we await formal assessments, at this stage we don’t believe any of those injured to be in a life-threatening condition.’ Emergency crews were called at around 5pm to Clapham Common South Side.
