Actress Maria Bakalova has given some early details on her role as Cosmo the Space Dog in the forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which releases next May, has been one of the most anticipated Marvel movies of the past five years. Director James Gunn has confirmed the film will cap off the arcs he started in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, though most plot details beyond that remain under wraps.

Bakalova's brief words about the role do confirm some crucial details going into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Firstly, it confirms that the part will be motion capture, which adds Cosmo to the list of mo-cap characters in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, alongside Groot, Rocket and Howard the Duck.
The most telling aspect of this interview is Bakalova's excitement for the film, as not only a fan of the MCU but as a fan of filmmaking in general. It's been widely reported that Gunn's productions are very enjoyable experiences, and this has carried even into the post-production units, which a lot of Bakalova's work as Cosmo likely factors into.
