The Saints striker is nearing a return to full fitness after suffering a serious ACL injury in January.
Greg Kiltie believes returning “match-winner” Jonah Ayunga can help St Mirren maintain their lofty league position.
And playmaker Kiltie can’t wait to have the lethal striker fit and firing once again as the Buddies aim to stay at the sharp end of the Premiership table after a sensational start to the campaign. “The new boys that haven’t seen him play have been impressed already and he’ll definitely add more competition and firepower up front. That can only benefit us.“I’m looking forward to seeing him back. We’re not blessed with a massive squad so he’s definitely one we’re glad to have back and who can add that bit of quality and be a match-winner for us.
As well as enjoying training with Ayunga at Ralston over the current break, Kiltie was also delighted to see St Mirren’s growing international contingent shine in their national jerseys. Kiltie said: “I’m delighted for Conor to go and get his first international goal. It’s great recognition for the work he’s doing here.“Last season I was in the three in the middle, but this season I’ve been pushed up higher.
