It comes after Rachel Woods announced her intention to stand down as a councillor to take up a “new role”.

The Green Party NI has announced a new councillor for Holywood and Clandeboye in Ards and North Down.

Ms Woods said it was an “immense privilege” to serve the people of North Down and it is with a “heavy heart” she leaves her role as a councillor. Ms Kendall previously worked as a Law Searcher, and has spent most of her career working in the community and charity sector in the areas of justice, disability and environment.

"We must strive to make our communities sustainable, inclusive and representative of all. The community's views and voices must be at the heart of decision-making.
