The popular Greek Taverna on Bath Street is celebrating Veganuary with some plant-based first including vegan gyros on a rotating spit that could be a first for Glasgow.
A family-owned Greek Taverna is set to celebrate Veganuary with a special pop-up that will include vegan gyros on a rotating spit.
Taking place on January 29, Yiamas Greek Taverna will be serving up plant-based Greek food, with its entire menu turning vegan for the day. Stascia Bantouvakis, who is running the pop-up, said they are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the event, which will run from 12 pm until 8 pm, featuring a DJ and cocktails , as well as what could be a first for Glasgow – vegan gyros, created using their house Seitan, on a rotating spit.Speaking about the pop-up, the top cook confirmed that the food will be available for bookings, walk-ins and takeaway.
Stascia said: “We are really excited to host our vegan pop-up again, this time even bigger and better than the last. "Not only are we making house favourites like Spanakopita and Tyropitaki available but we will have seitan gyros cooked on the spit, which we believe to be a truly unique vegan dining experience in Glasgow. Whether you eat a vegan diet or just like to try new things we think you’ll love our fully plant-based Greek menu.
