GB Captain Anne Keothavong said the whole team 'feels for Jodie Burrage' after the 24-year-old suffered hugely from debut nerves in Billie Jean King Cup defeat on Saturday, and was replaced by Harriet Dart on Sunday. Burrage suffered a nightmare debut vs Sweden's Kajsa Rinaldo Persson, ranked 300 places lower, appearing to settle well when she opened up a 4-0 lead, but she then lost eight games in a row and fell to a 6-4 6-1 defeat.
'I know they're limited with the number of tournaments they can play but their level is up there and I think that's really exciting for women's tennis. We've got competition for places on this team and we've got players with experience who know how it works, but there's no guarantee for anyone.
