The Donegal club confirmed the appointment on Friday evening
"Grateful" Darren Murphy insists he is relishing the challenge after being appointed permanent manager of Finn Harps.
Murphy steered Harps to seven points from the final five games to finish ninth in the First Division.The former Irish League midfielder told Finn Harps' website: "I would like to thank Ian Harkin and the rest of the board for giving me this fantastic opportunity. After taking the team for the final six weeks of the season, it was something that I really, really enjoyed.
"I am grateful to be given the chance to explore the opportunity even further. I would also like to acknowledge that the supporters and the people around Donegal have been fantastic to me since I arrived. Murphy brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously managed in the Irish League and also coached at Linfield and Crusaders. He was also Elite UEFA Academy Coach and Elite Performance Coach for the Irish Football Association and has managed Northern Ireland International sides at U16, U17 and U19 levels.
