I Am Maximus was victorious for Paul Townend and Willie Mullins in a thrilling Grand National.
In history-making style the joint-favourite I Am Maximus was victorious in the famous JP McManus colours to deliver a second win in the race for dominant Irish trainer Mullins. Minella Indo looked set to repeat Rachael Blackmoore's 2021 win in the latter stages of the race but I Am Maximus just found more in the closing to land this year's renewal ahead of Delta Work and Blackmore's ride.

2024 Grand National: Weather forecast for Aintree RacecourseThe 2024 Grand National will take place next week, with the thousands of spectators attending hoping for dry weather. The festival launches with Grand National Thursday on April 11, before Ladies Day on Friday, April 12 and Grand National Day on Saturday, April 13, when the famous steeplechase will take place. The Jockey Club has confirmed Saturday’s race has been brought forward to an earlier time of 4pm to create the best possible ground conditions for the horses.
