A grandmother expresses her dislike for Halloween, stating that it encourages mixed messages and is a waste of money. She also criticizes parents who allow their children to go trick-or-treating and decorate their homes excessively.
A Halloween -hating gran has said the holiday "encourages mixed messages " and said trick-or-treating is like "begging". Rae Radford never allowed her kids to go guising when they were younger, as she felt it was "wrong" and unsafe.
Rae, a writer from Kent, said: "It is like begging and I just don't like it at all. It's wrong. I hate Halloween. I just think it encourages mixed messages and it's a waste of money. I can't stand it and think it's stupid. Rae, 60, also fumed at people decorating their entire homes in the lead up to Halloween, like they would do for Christmas. She said: "It's a waste of money as well, particularly all this dressing up. People dress their houses up and some houses are really over the top. It's all come from America and I really don't understand it."
But Rae warned parents who want to get into the spirit of the spooky season that many others don't - and they won't take kindly to trick-or-treaters knocking on their door.
