Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency ahead of a major snowstorm forecast to hit Buffalo.Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency upstate Thursday morning, as Buffalo prepares for a major snowstorm."What we're talking about is a major, major storm," the governor said. "This is considered an extreme event, an extreme weather event. That means it's dangerous. It also means it's life-threatening.
Officials urged everyone in the area to stay off roads between 7pm Thursday to 7pm Friday to allow road crews to stay ahead of snow that was forecast to fall at rates as high as 3 inches per hour.The Buffalo Bills are scheduled to host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and as of now, that game is still on.
Bills Quarterback Josh Allen says he is helping his teammates who haven't experienced snow in Buffalo before and is urging everyone to drive with caution. "I'm making sure I'm letting everyone in the locker room know, especially some of these rookies who have never driven in snow before, what to do. We got ice scrapers in front there for our guys to take home," Allen said.
