Gov. Kathy Hochul’s blasted for NY migrant crisis response: ‘There has been zero leadership’
Many of the migrants are escaping poverty and violence in home countries like Venezuela.against the Adams administration, which is suing more than two dozen other counties to unlock space for migrants upstate.
“While we’re working hard to find sights within the city, we believe other counties and cities must also do their part, as this is not just a New York City humanitarian crisis. It’s rather, a national crisis,” Adolfo Carrión Jr., commissioner of the city Department of Housing Preservation and Development, said at a Wednesday press conference at City Hall.An Adams spokesman did not provide comment on Wednesday on whether any migrants might get sent to state facilities upstate.
“Take migrants, add crime and fear of crime, add bail reform and Clean Slate, finish with suburban Re-zoning, and you come up today with 2024 Democratic suburban disaster. Why should she stick her neck in her party’s self-created noose?’” Democratic political consultant Hank Sheinkopf said.
