In the press conference, Gov. Mike Dunleavy didn’t announce any new proposals and touted low state spending, healthy Permanent Fund returns, and optimism about the state’s revenue picture.
JUNEAU, Alaska - Gov. Mike Dunleavy held a news conference on Thursday in Juneau and asked lawmakers to take action as he revisited his priorities for the 2022 legislative session.
The governor’s proposed budget for the 2023 fiscal year includes two Permanent Fund dividend payments for Alaskans totaling over $3,000. Some lawmakers don’t see that happening. Dunleavy is asking legislators to give his PFD plan consideration and hopes it can help Alaskans offset the cost of inflation.
