There will be some disruption to Merseyrail services after the bank holiday weekend
Merseyrail passengers can travel as normal this Easter bank holiday weekend, as trains will running according to schedule.
The usual timetable will remain in place on the Merseyside network this weekend - though people travelling further afield have been urged to check the National Rail website, as planned engineering works mean several lines will be closed between Good Friday and Easter Monday. This includes the Avanti service between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street and the TransPennine Express service between Liverpool Lime Street and Preston.READ MORE: Armed robber found dead just six days after his release from prison
, with rail replacement buses running between Hillside and Southport due to engineering work on the Southport line. Due to buses being unable to access certain roads in Liverpool city centre, rail replacement buses will no longer stop at Liverpool Central or Liverpool Lime Street, and will stop at Moorfields and James Street, depending on which services are affected.
