Kulsuma Akter was stabbed to death in Bradford
Officers are continuing to patrol through Oldham and carry out 'reassurance visits' after a suspect was arrested following the death of a mum in Bradford.
A huge manhunt was launched to find her alleged killer before a man, from Oldham, was arrested on suspicion of her murder in the early hours of this morning . The 25-year-old was arrested in the Aylesbury area.The Manchester Evening News understands the man arrested is Habibur Masum, who has been the subject of police appeals since Saturday. A spokesperson for the force confirmed officers are no longer searching for him.
GMP said in a post on Facebook: "Following the arrest of a 25-year-old man on suspicion of the murder of Kulsuma Akter in Bradford, we are continuing with increased patrols in the #Oldham area, as well as community reassurance visits. Both Greater Manchester Police and West Yorkshire Police have referred themselves to the Independent Office of Police Conduct due to 'previous contact' with the victim. A 23-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of assisting an offender.
