Jennifer Kennedy was left fighting for her life after she was knocked down whilst walking home from Glasgow Kelvin College in December 2018. Many of her friends distanced themselves.
A Glasgow woman, who was left with a brain injury after being hit by a car, has found love and friends again.
The then 17-year-old was placed in an induced coma after being struck by the vehicle as she crossed Shettleston Road. Jennifer had to learn how to walk and talk again following the traumatic incident.READ MORE: Glasgow mum 'paralysed with fear' as four-year-old bitten by dog at playpark However, in Spring 2023 the 22-year-old attend her first event with Dates-n-Mates, a charity who run social events for people with learning disabilities.
"My mum found out about Dates-n-Mates and helped me go along to it. I wanted to make new friends because I never had anybody, I was lonely.Since making the leap into the events Jennifer has continued to thrive. The 22-year-old is now is back to having a vibrant social life and is contastly out meeting her friends."I never wanted to leave the house before but now I'm never in. I volunteer and go out with Date-n-Mates and my boyfriend, Dean.
