WARNING: This story contains graphic images. Linsey Willis, from Summerston, decided to take three-year-old Harvey for a walk on Monday, March 18, after cancelling their dog walker when she heard shouting from behind.
A Glasgow mum was forced to run for her life after two XL bully-type dogs launched a savage attack on the family pet while on an afternoon walk in the north of the city.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, she said: "It was terrifying. I was walking through the cemetery and I heard shouting from behind me.READ MORE: First look inside Glasgow's new Charlotte Tilbury store as Scotland's first stand-alone shop opens Linsey says that the owner managed to pull one of the dogs off of Harvey but was unable to get the second which was launching a savage attack as she didn't have leads for either of the bullies. The mum was losing hope that they would both escape when Harvey suddenly snapped out of his pain-induced trance and twisted away - releasing its grip.
"When I looked back the dog had stopped chasing us and didn't come over the hill. I was so terrified that It was going to come back so we kept going until we found a passing car who kindly let us get in and I bundled both of us into the back." "He's got major muscle and tissue damage. Physically they said it will take a couple of months for him to recover but mentally I think it's going to take him longer."
