People living in the Townhead area say rats are entering car engines, chewing through wires and even creating nests within the vehicles. Meanwhile, dead rats are being left for months before they are removed.
A Glasgow neighbourhood has been overrun by rats for over a year leaving residents afraid to leave their homes.
Footage seen by Glasgow Live show several rats running through a communal garden area at night and one image shows a dead rat abandoned in the neighbourhood. We've been told that the area is so bad that it needs to be fenced off."They’re going inside people’s cars as well; we’ve tried putting rat poison in our car to keep them out but it's not working at all.
They continued: "I'm terrified to go out at night. If I do, I walk with massive torches and jumping at everything. I’m scared to step out the car in case one gets in.The resident claimed Glasgow City Council has been contacted about the issue but there has been no resolution to the issue.They continued: It’s absolutely ridiculous. The more we’ve complained, we're just constantly told there’s nothing they can do, it’s down to the council.
