Workers held their first day of industrial action on Monday, when Kelvingrove Museum had to close, and more disruption is expected throughout the week.
Museum workers in Glasgow will continue their week of strike action over planned job cuts tomorrow, with picket lines planned at two venues.
Glasgow Life, which runs culture and leisure services for the council, also had to close the Museums Resource Centre on Monday, and more disruption is expected throughout the week. On the first day of the five-day strike, Unison members gathered on the steps at Kelvingrove, displaying a sign which stated ‘museums need staff’.
A spokesman previously said: “The measures identified within our museums and collections service, which were approved by the council, are a direct consequence of the continued pressures on public sector finances.”
