More sad news for the southside.
One of the southside's most popular delis has dismayed fans by announcing it is set to close its doors due to spiralling costs.
Posting on Instagram they wrote: "After lots of rest, recovery and regrouping, we've made the decision to close the curtain on Silk Road Deli."We've had days when we've been absolutely heaving. Days where you couldn't move - queues out the door. We've loved those days. But it'll be no surprise to you that post-pandemic pressures have made us really vulnerable.
Writing that they have no regrets, they added: "[We've] Spent the most mental, physical and emotional labour on this place, you wouldn't believe. We're not a coupla nepo babies or middle class industry kids. We've sweated in these walls every single day of service. Both of us. 17h+ days. Could not be prouder of us. Ain't seen grafters like it.
