Councillor Redmond strenuously denies swearing and it doesn't seem to be audible on a council recording.

A senior Glasgow councillor could be reported to the standards watchdog after being accused of swearing at a fellow politician during a live public meeting, which he denies.

And following the meeting, which saw two Labour councillors criticised by committee chair and council leader Susan Aitken, it was suggested Cllr Redmond could be reported to the standards commission. Chairing the meeting at the time, cllr Aitken, SNP, ordered cllrs Redmond and MacAveety to turn off their microphones.

Strenuously denying the allegation, Calton cllr Redmond said afterwards: "At no point did I use language that is inappropriate. The evidence supporting that is available in the recording and from people present in the room."
