A family-run Glasgow café is hosting a free Boxing Day meal to bring together members of their community in need.
The cafe, which is owned by six sisters, hosted the first Boxing Day community meal last year with the Easterhouse Community Church. Sammy Quinn, one of the co-owners of Wee Betty's, hopes to encourage any housing-insecure or elderly people in the area to come as well as anyone who might feel lonely this time of year. She said:"We just want to give the Christmas spirit that maybe some people don’t get the day before.
“Quite a few older gentlemen have come in which has been great this year because generally, they can be quite self-conscious to do something like that.Sammy added: “We have a good amount of volunteers who are willing to pick people up and drop them off back home so that if the weather is bad we can still get them.”
