– One of the top five new year’s resolutions is to give up drinking, or at least slow it down a little. Too much alcohol can wreak havoc on your health.

The trend is called, “Dry January.” “During this pandemic, a lot of patients are being freer with their alcohol use or allowing themselves to have a worse diet than usual. All of this can damage the liver in the long-term,” Elizabeth Hwang, MD and gastroenterologist at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center said.
