Girl, 4, dies after being shot outside Pennsylvania store
Tuesday's incident is one of the most recent shootings in the U.S. involving a minor. So far in 2022, at least 406 children have been killed and about 966 more have been injured by gun violence, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
The little girl was taken to a nearby medical center but did not survive her injuries. Sources told WTXF that a preliminary investigation indicated that the shooting appeared to be an accident.has not been able to independently verify with the police or the Delaware County District Attorney's Office regarding the details of the shooting.
Images captured at the location of the shooting reported by WTXF showed a gas station on the 900 block of Kerlin Street. There was yellow police tape blocking off the pumps, and police vehicles were on the scene.Chester was once considered one of the most violent small cities in America, but local statistics have shown a decrease in homicides in recent years.
