The incident happened on Feb. 23, and the boy managed to jot down the license plate number of the car involved. It is believed the incident is part of a TikTok challenge.
A 14-year-old boy in Gilbert was hit by a splatter gun, but the the quick-thinking boy managed to jot down the license plate, and reported it to police.
Nicole says police told them they have had other calls like this one, and it is all part of a TikTok challenge that encourages kids to drive by and shoot 'splatter balls' at strangers. The Moon family wants people to know that this is not OK, and they want other families to be aware of what could go on in their own neighborhoods.

TikTok Bans Misogyny, Misgendering and Deadnaming Trans Users, and the Promotion of Conversion TherapyTikTok, a platform with over 1 billion monthly users, is taking new steps to protect LGBTQ and women users from harassment and hate speech. The most recent update of its Community Guidelines bans any content found to contain misogyny, as well as the misgendering and deadnaming of transgender creators. Released Tuesday, the new guidelines also clarified any content promoting or supporting so-called conversion therapy would also be a violation of the rules, along with content that promotes disordered eating.
