es and Co.“It’ll be a little bit,” Waller said Wednesday, adding that he definitely won’t play this week at the Raiders, who traded him to the Giants this past offseason.
Waller got hurt in Sunday’s crushing loss to the Jets, essentially aggravating a right hamstring injury that he initially sustained a week earlier against Washington. Still, Waller said he doesn’t want to rush back from this hamstring issue, even though it is on a different leg than last year’s. He said he tried to do that last season — and it didn’t go well.
After visiting Las Vegas, the Giants visit the Cowboys, visit the Commanders, and host the Patriots. Then they have their bye in Week 13, before hosting the Packers on Dec. 11. Will Waller play in any of those games before the bye week?The Giants knew durability could be an issue when they traded a third-round draft pick for Waller, who turned 31 in September. They don’t have an escape hatch in his contract until after 2024. By that point, they will have paid him about $24 million.
