Smart will earn $13 million per year under new deal
Georgia football coach Kirby Smart, left, has agreed to a contract extension through the 2033 season that pays him an average of $13 million per year. Georgia’s Kirby Smart has received another contract extension, once again making him the highest-paid coach in college football.
Smart’s new deal runs through the 2033 season and ups his salary to $13 million per year, according to multiple reports. He surpasses Clemson’s Dabo Swinney in the college football salary arms race. The 48-year-old Smart is 94-16 in eight seasons at his alma mater, with national championships after the 2021 and 2022 seasons. The Bulldogs went 13-1 last year, losing to Alabama in the SEC championship game before routing Florida State 63-3 in the Orange Bowl.
