A Georgia man was sentenced to six months in prison Tuesday after admitting he shot at a 5-month pregnant woman in Munster.
Samuel Edwards III, 39, of Lagrange, Georgia, signed a plea agreement July 27 for intimidation, a Level 5 felony.The plea called for a six-month sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections with another 2.5 years on probation. He will also have to undergo court-ordered mental health counseling.
According to the affidavit filed on Dec. 2, 2020, the woman discovered that Edwards was cheating on her. She confronted him and they argued on the 800 block of Sibley Street. Hammond cops were called twice. She looked up the other woman’s address online and decided to go to her house on the 8200 block of Northcote Avenue in Munster to confront her and tell her to leave her alone, according to court documents.The other woman came home, appearing to drive “erratically.” She got into an argument with her fiance. The victim left.
