Gen V may be a spin-off of The Boys, but the show has already surpassed the original series in one major way before season 1 is even over.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Gen V is really making a name for itself, as the spin-off series is already beating The Boys in one all-important area. The Boys is one of the most iconic streaming shows of the past few years, with its superhero stories, graphic content, and massive amounts of gore allowing the show to make a name for itself.
Gen V is finally out, with season 1 of the highly-anticipated spin-off of Amazon Prime Video's The Boys currently in the midst of releasing. Gen V looks at the world of the franchise through a new lens, with the series this time exploring a supe college known as Godolkin University. Gen V carries on many of the hallmarks of The Boys franchise, including its unique superhero powers and overarching villainous corporation, Vought.
Gen V Is Way More Graphic Than The Boys Although The Boys is a pretty graphic show, Gen V manages to be even more graphic, cranking the dial up another level. The sexual content of Gen V is far more prevalent than any previous season of The Boys, with almost every episode having nudity or some kind of sex scene. While The Boys does have its fair share of sexual content, it never lingers on it as much as Gen V does.
Gen V Makes The Boys Season 3's Herogasm Disappointment Worse Gen V mixes sex and superpowers in some incredibly unique ways, making The Boys season 3's Herogasm disappointment worse. Going into The Boys season 3, "Herogasm" was one of the most anticipated episodes, with it adapting the famous comic storyline in which a large number of supes get together for a super-powered orgy.
Why Gen V Being More Graphic Than The Boys Makes Sense Although it may seem strange for the spin-off to be more graphic than the original series, it actually makes sense. Gen V takes place at a college, and colleges are known for romance and lots of sex. Most other TV shows focusing on college students are sexual enough, so it makes sense for a franchise known for its graphic content to kick it up a notch.
